Message I Got After Nila's Wedding

Happy Wedding one of My best Friends...Nila and Kiki *kiss kiss…
Me, of course cried during the wedding ceremony of them…uh, finally you all have happy BEGINNING… Yes, it is just the beginning.
Wedding message from Nila’s dad is just (still) spinning in my head :p Saying to the the groom to take care of his little sweety daughter he loves the most was just make me “mewek” all time long at that time haha

Yes, girls…looking for such good boy to be your imam is not that easy. It’s not just about money he has, or how fancy the job he has, or how handsome he is, or how your heart beats fast when you meet him…. None of these! Be logical…

“A woman is married for 4 things : her wealth, her family status, her beauty, and her religion. So You should marry the religious woman (otherwise) you will be a loser” (Muhammad SAW)

The quotation also can be applied to you girls. Find the good moslem boy and voila…with his  religiousity will also come his nice attitude, his nice smile, his nice life, good father for your kid(s), and an imam you will go together to jannah…aameen

Oh well, this is our selfie moment with the bride. haha tetep ye…^^

GreaT GriT

Been admiring a website tedtalks.com... Only for practicing my ability in listening and understanding what native speaker talks at first, now i enjoy listening to the idea delivered. One of my favorite is this one! a teacher who finds that a grit, a passion...not talent...not what you best at is the best determinant to a success. Of course u would agree that no one can describe best what success is. In this case...if you now feel succeed...then you are!

For myself, success is a situation when you feel you are happy and surrounded with people who love you..and being a good you for them. Its not about abundance money and prestigious job. When you feel all you got is enough, success is just in your hand!

Thats why i do love this video by angela lee duckworth... It tells us that when u like to do something, u will feel its just okay to fail. You will do good after another try. No more worries. Cz one who tries more, only that who love what they do. So the point is : Happiness all the way!!! :)

Happy watching and Be success in your own way

My Mini Survey Note : Obesogenic Behavior (Part 2)

Hi Readers...
I've got good news (at least its good for me) : I'm done with the research and analyses, Yay!
So I'm gonna show you the result.

The result shows that there's no association between interrole conflict (work-family conflict) in working moms and their kid's obesogenic behaviors (behaviors which result to the increased risk of being obese/overweight). Some variables related to socioeconomic status are known to increase risk of having high obesogenic behavior level. Kids 1) with higher rate of family income and 2) Whose mother has professional or managerial position are at high risk to have high obesogenic behaviors level.
It's not really surprising, as many studies in Asian countries show that high level of family income will increase the likelihood to access supermarkets, animal-based foods, fast foods, etc. It can also reduce likelihood to be physically active because of vehicle or gadgets ownership (that may reduce energy expenditure).

Well, from this findings, I strongly recommend to educate working mothers with high socioeconomic status to promote leptogenic (the inverse of the term 'obesogenic') behaviors to their children. Public health practitioner is one important part who can promote it (through health primary care parenting counseling/poster/participating in controlling the availibility of high calorie foods /promoting vigorous physical activity at schools).

My Mini Survey Note : Obesogenic Behaviour

So...this idea came from previous data (cant say which one), shown that working moms in urban area are most likely to stop breastfeed than those in rural area here in my country. So i self-assume that ones who live in urban area (with all their tough routines) also likely not to teach or not being a good role model of healthy life (leptogenic lifestyle) for their own kid(s). Yet, the citizen are begin to be exposed to rapid growth of fast food industry and industrialisation that makes them not to be physically active.

I've been working on my own mini survey (actually for my thesis stuff-data processing is still on progress) on obesogenic behaviours among Yogyakarta's school-aged children whose moms participate in workforce. So I invited school-age students whose moms are working, of 8 schools in Yogyakarta (both state and private ones) to participate in the study. I also sent questionnaires (moms' stress on work and family's and kids' obesogenic behaviour) to 285 parents and assess their kids anthropometrical nutritional status.

Anyway...some other research in different countries has shown varied results. That's why I just cant wait to see what would be the result of mine. Hope I can show you this later. I'll keep it for the next post.

Be Healthy! eat good stuff and move more :) see ya

happy national children's day

Couple days ago...my mom asked me to go with her, attended 'children's day' event, organized by my mom's social organization (i mean, my mom is one of the member of the organization). Well, if u dont really like children,  this kind of celebration will be so boring...(I guarantee that, haha).
For me who likes children a lot, this celebration was kinda cuteeee!!!...I watched them dance, sing, act in a roleplay and do cute moves in exercise competition :)

national children's day in Yogyakarta, my hometown (from my own camera)
Seeing them grow up normally is a thing, isnt it?
Unfortunately, in different side of the world, or maybe just several kilometres far from here, there are many unlucky children, living in a poverty and other problems (i.e child abuse, obesity and undernourished, bullying, trafficking etc). So, what can we do to resolve these? Well, I know its not easy. We can start to do every little thing that can help children (lets say...start from your own society). It can be action to fight hunger or just giving the street children their basic needs like clothes, healthy food and drink, or even just teach them how to read. And of course for you who can do big thing, just do it, do not hesitate to invite and support your friends to help children

From the National Health Survey in 2010, it is known that 17.9% under 5 years of age children are undernourished (bear in mind that this country has large population...so, 17.9% is a big number!!!!). 35,6% children are stunted and 13.3% are wasted. In addition, there are 9.6 % of 6-12 years-old children are obese and overweight. okay, just stop here...I wont add more cases number regarding to children cos it's enough to show you that there are abundance of problems that are faced by children. They need our help!

Well friends, every single little thing we do is very meaningful, lets act to fight the problems, be their grow-up partners...
Make them smile
Make them happy
Happy National Children's Day to you all children (and you all, who care about them)

cheating = ruin the world

Cheating (or in this case known as academic fraud) has been a hot topic in my country since tha case of "elementary school teacher who ask one of her student to give answers of the national final exam to the classmates" blowed up to the public. Another cheating story comes from my own experience. these days recently I become a part-timer of final exam guard in one of education institution and saw students cheated so wildly (haha) in class.

In fact, you must agree to me that cheating is very common here. We can asily find the cheating-students in evry class, and that's very ironic.--do you think the word "common" for "cheating" should be a common thing? Well, this is a serious problem faced by our country. in my opinion, cheating behavior in students will possibly lead to other misconducts because students who do so will be accustomed and assume that cheating isn't a big deal to do. Dont you think that cheat is just the same like steal?or counts as conspiracy and lie?

Students, are you going to graduate from your school or college (or even being cumlaude) by cheating in your every exam in every year of your study period? or for the letter "A" you could bet your own good name? Then do you think what will you be after your 'cheating graduation day'? a corruptor/a terrorist? or what will this country be if u (people who cheated) lead this country? ruin ur own country?

well, students you are all the future leader of this country, or even you could be great leader in the world. please dont cheat or you will ruin the world with ur own low morality :)

Be Inspired and Be Great

People can overcome anything. These people did it with their own way, really inspires me, and overall, my life.. :). i want to share my idols to u coz i really want u to know that these people (though some of them are only evryday people) by their own characters and ways could affect their society (include me)....

Be Inspired, all!!!

Muhammad, The Prophet
Surely and no wonder that he is an evry single moslem’s idol all over the world…he was the chosen one to lead people to a better way. And still today, all moslem really want to be like him, follow what he did
One thing I really admire of him is his tolerance to other people, even from different religion. He respected other religion’s way of praying, spread Islam with peace and really hated war…even people do harm to him, he wouldn’t do the same thing to others unless they did troubles.
That’s why, he really inspires me to become a tolerant person and live in a society peacefully…

Mom and Dad
picture : spreadshirt.com

Ah, u all know what I mean…my mom and dad are the BEST people I’ve ever met in the world!… I learnt and still am learning every single thing from them...

Prof Etty
picture : fiksi.kompasiana.com
Adorable professor of anthropology, lecturer, educator, and woman. That’s what I think about her. First meeting her, I really didn’t have any idea what’s she like. I only knew her stories from a friend, and I just loved her amazing profile even before I knew her (the stories were about anthropological stuff, breaking the criminal stuff, the award stuff, etc). Then…one day, I met her in her office. Couldnt believe my eyes at that time…and this is the amazing thing—I was involved in her research, being one of her assistants... Just like a dream came true. Spent the days with her, rode in a same car with her, ate lunch and slept together with her…these were just a wow…
She inspires me a lot. She showed us how to be professional, she really “EDUCATE”…we’ve never had a real educator, before we met her…she’s never given us lecture in class, but u know what, she gave us more than just an ordinary lecture…it was a lecture of life (haha do I speak too much?). One thing I learnt from her was about honesty. She became the role model when we don’t have any one to be. Now, I know what it is called by a success…It will be a real success when u achieve that by working hard, professionally, and honestly… that’s the point!!!!

Thomas Alva Edison
picture : andrax5.blogspot.com
First I knew his story when I was so young. The ‘bulb stuff’ evoked my spirit when I was down. This is how the story goes… “Someday..Thomas Alva Edison did the publication of his invention. A journalist asked him-arent you ashamed that u have  failed 99 times?-He replied that he hasn’t failed, he has learnt 99 ways to find the way to lit up the bulb…” and who would have thought, he made it!!!!
A success, come to person who constantly tries, never think to give up, and never think that they would fail…

Barrack Obama
picture : ui.ac.id

He is the 2nd black person who lead the US (after Hanson). I don’t know, but I just love his speech and the way he persuade other people through his speech. The first impression came when he visited my country, and give a speech in University of Indonesia. Since that time I often follow his speech in different moments  through youtube.com. I think he also the one who inspires me. What I learnt from him is no matter who u are, whether u’re a white or a black or an asian or whoever u are, as long as u have capability in doing something, everybody will not discriminate you and furthermore will respect you…so whoever you are...keep on learning and be great, guys!!!!

Breastfeeding : Great Investment For a Nation

what do u choose once u have a baby? breastmilk? formula milk?

(blog.babble.com)

A saying "breast is best" is absolutely right!my cousin's wife proved it-or maybe lots of moms around the world did, too. Anyway, they are a new family with a cute baby girl, live outside Indonesia (can say, outside Asia, too, where western most live in). Once a baby girl reached around 4 or 5 months of age, she was sent to kinda "baby-mom" group in town (she mostly spends her day there).
Several days ago, they came here to my house and shared stories about the baby girL. They told me that she has the best motoric development among her western friends. She's the only one who can sit properly while other children couldnt do it yet in their age
After long conversation, the conclusion had been reached! :D. It is known that breastfeeding is not very popular among the citizen there. The same thing happen in my country actually, where the number of exclusive breastfeeding do not reach the number of 50%.

The altering-problem varies. It can be psychological, problem causing pain (like nipple-sore), working mom, and many more.

Once u decide to have a baby, u have to make sure that u are fully ready to be a real mom and be well-informed. Be aware! Early information will make u ready to feed your baby with breastmilk. Some people feels that they have problem about the adequacy of their milk production. i believe it will not happen if u take care of your breast during pregnancy and give ur baby early breastfeed right after u give birth. thats why i say that getting early information is an important thing especially for new-moms :)

Knowing the great advantages of giving breastmilk to babies, in my opinion...promoting breastfeeding will be a great investment for a nation, lets say for my country, Indonesia. If all moms , clinics, workplace where moms work in, healthcare service aware of this (instead of receiving money from "under-6 months of age" formula milk product salesman), i believe there wont be infant mortality in rural area and it also guarantee the growth of the infants. A nation will not cost much to cure hunger-related diseases (like marasmus or kwashiorkor-those case are frequently found in my country). Furthermore, there are a lot of studies shown that children who were fed breastmilk exclusively will have good inteliigence. Surely, we need more inteligent people to bring this nation to a better future. Thats a great investment for Indonesia, isnt that?

So lets participate to build our nation to a better future, starting by giving ur baby appropriate meal for their very 1st moment of life...breastfeed.
